Community District Meeting – Cedar Grove & Ellenwood Communities

November 18 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Please join the Cedar Grove and Ellenwood Community Districts for our regularly scheduled monthly meeting. Regular virtual meetings are currently scheduled for the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm.

May 20th Meeting will feature Mr. David Burgess, former Commissioner of the Public Service Commission. He will discuss the importance of the role of the PSC and of the upcoming statewide elections.

Mr. David Burgess was appointed by Governor Roy E. Barnes to fill a vacant Public Service Commission seat on April 8, 1999. His appointment is one of several “firsts.” David Burgess was the first African-American person to serve on the vital utility board; the first former PSC staff member to hold a Commission seat; and the first Georgia Tech graduate on the Commission. He was elected to a full six-year term in November 2000. David Burgess is the only African-American to ever win a state-wide election for Public Service Commissioner in the state of Georgia. On January 1, 2002, he became the first African-American to Chair the Commission. David held the position of Vice-Chairman in 1999 and 2006.
